一阐提
According to early Buddhism, a sentient being who, being inherently unreceptive to the teachings of the Buddha, will never attain enlightenment. Later Mahayana tended to regard an icchantika as one who would ultimately attain Buddhahood, although his path would be difficult.
(An) unbeliever... a person who has cut all the wholesome roots... in himself and has no wish to attain Buddhahood.
