A branch of Weishi 唯识 psychology traced back to Sthiramati 安慧， that teaches， in opposition to theories that consciousness has three or four parts， that it only has one part. This position was disputed by the school of Dharmapa^la 护法， which argued that consciousness has four aspects 四分.
