不定法

The 'undetermined elements' which do not necessary arise in all states of mind, and therefore have no predisposition toward good or evil. In the Abhidharma, there are eight mental functions in this category, more precisely termed as 不定地法. In the Yoga^ca^ra 瑜伽行派 doctrine there are four of these mental functions: remorse (zhuihui 追悔), drowsiness (shuimian 睡眠), investigation (寻), and analysis (伺). Also called the "four indeterminates" 四不定.
