According to Yoga^ca^ra theory， the five cases where the mano-vijn~a^na意识 is non-existent: （1） Deep sleep 极重睡眠（acittaka）; （2） deathin extreme agony 极重闷绝 （mu^rccha^）; （3） thought-free meditation 无想定 （asam!jn~i-sama^patti）; （4） birth in the no-thought heaven 无想天 （a^sam!jn~ika）; （5） illusion-ending meditation 灭尽定（nirodha-sama^patti）. ［成唯识论 T 1585.31.38a26］
