Disciple（s） of the Buddha. In the strictest sense， refers to the ten primary disciples of S/a^kyamuni， such as Maha^ka^/syapa 摩诃迦叶， S/a^riputra 舍利弗， Maudgalya^yana 目连， a^nanda 阿难， etc.， but can also be used in a general sense to refer to both lay and monastic Buddhist practitioners.
