十法行


The 'ten teaching practices.' Ten kinds of practices related to the scriptures (da/sa-dharma-caritam). (1) The copying and preservation of the Great Vehicle teachings. (2) Performance of memorial services. (3) Bestowal of wisdom upon others. (4) Listening to explanations of the teachings by others. (5) To study and read with enthusiasm oneself. (6) to comprehend them. (7) To recite them. (8) To explain them for others. (9) To think them through for oneself. (10) To practice them. There are other sets which vary according to the text. For instance another set of ten can be found in the Shoulengyan sanmei jing 首楞严三昧经 in T vol. 15, p. 641b.
