（1） False speech; lying （Skt. mr!s!a^-va^da; Pali musa^-va^da）， which is one of the ten evil actions 十恶 in Buddhism and is prohibited in the five basic precepts 五戒. （2） False speech in the broader sense of not only lying， but any speech that is incorrect， exaggerating， embellishing， etc.
