Zhuangzi; a famous Chinese sage and philosopher (369-286 BCE) who is regarded to be a transmitter, as well as a major innovator of the Taoist teachings of Laozi (老子). He is the reputed author a work by the same name. His philosophy is characterized by an emphasis on naturalness in one's life and actions and tongue-in-cheek criticism of unchecked intellectuality. Intellectual historians generally attribute a significant amount of LaoZhuang thought to the development of Chan Buddhism.
