Hyech'ol （785-861）， an early Korean （Silla） Son teacher who studied Chan in China under the tutelage of Zhizang 智藏， along with Toui 道义 and Hongch'ok 洪陟. He founded the Tongni san 桐里山 school， one of the original "nine mountain 九山" Son schools in Korea.
