法住记


The Fazhuji, which is a translation by Xuanzang (in 654) of the Nandimitra^vada^na (T 2030.49.12-15). This is an abbreviation of the full title Da aluohan nantimiduoluo suoshuo fazhuji 大阿罗汉难提蜜多罗所说法住记. One fascicle, by Nandimitra(transcribed as 难提蜜多罗, translated as 庆友); also known as the 大阿罗汉难提蜜多罗所说法住偈, the 大阿罗汉难陀蜜多罗法住记, and 记法住传. The main focus of this text is to explain the notion of the sixteen arhats 十六罗汉 who remain in the world to protect the correct dharma. It also teaches that the stay of S/a^kyamuni in this world is finite, and how the members of the sangha are to continue the spread of the dharma in his stead.
