（1） The work that one does to make a living; one's livelihood. （karman） （2） Particularizing karma--the karma that determines precise conditions in one's rebirth， such as one's personality， level of intelligence， social status， and so forth; same as 满业， which contrasts with directive karma 引业， which determines more general conditions， such as the species into which one is born.
