（239-316） Dharmaraks!a. The most significant Chinese-scripture translator prior to Kuma^raji^va 鸠摩罗什. His name is also transliterated into Chinese as 昙摩罗察. He worked at various sites in China， among them Chang-an and Loyang. He translated over 150 seminal Hi^naya^na 小乘 and Maha^ya^na 大乘 works， among which are the early translations of the Lotus Sutra 法华经 and Da/sabhu^mika-su^tra 十地经.
