A snake-shaped demigod who brings clouds and rain （na^ga）. A dragon-king龙王， who originally evil， now protects the dharma and its practitioners. Also called dragon-spirits 龙神. One of the eight kinds of spiritual beings 八部众 who appear in Maha^ya^na scriptures to protect the dharma and its practitioners.
